Bodies of Light: September 18-21, 2026

Bodies of Light with Stefan Lucas Allen
from $111.00
Limit 3 per order

Bodies of Light

The human body is a vehicle which can enable a being to make a tremendous evolutionary leap in a relatively short period of time. A single lifetime of good energy management can easily put someone in charge of a galaxy, universe, or something bigger. The key to such incredible possibilities lies dormant within one’s physiology. In visionary art, this truth is intuitively touched upon all of the time through depictions of empowered individuals that radiate color, light, geometry and much more.

This class will be focused on deepening vision & honing craft in an effort to glean the inherent power of humanity & manifest it through the paint brush. Your teacher, Stefan Lucas Allen is a seasoned traditional artist, visionary artist and Kriya yoga instructor that will first show you how to draw the human figure from life & photo reference, then share with you how to incorporate your studies into powerful visionary paintings. guided meditations to build a group connection while supporting your individual vision.

***Supplies***

Good artist materials are a worthy investment that will make a huge difference in the quality of your completed work. Do not fiddle too long with student grade supplies in any medium. They will be more difficult to use and will make you develop bad habits as an artist.

These are my recommendations, if you already have a set of acrylic paints & brushes that you enjoy using, I’m sure it will do just fine.

What the Vision Sanctuary will provide:

  • A Glazing medium for both acrylics and oils

  • Communal Glazing Brushes

  • Easels, tables & lights for working at

  • Cups and glass jars for paint medium/ paint water

  • Paint Rags

  • Palette Paper

What you need to bring:

Painting Supplies

Recommended paint brand: Golden Acrylics (Fluid, Open or Heavy Body)

At least one red, one yellow, one blue, one one brown, one black and one white.

Example minimum paints list:

Naphol red

Hansa Yellow medium

Ultramarine blue

Burnt umber

Mars black

Titanium white

Other nice paints to have:

Transparent iron oxide red

Transparent iron oxide yellow

Alizarin crimson

Cadmium red

Cadmium orange

Cadmium yellow

Dioxazine purple

Phalo blue

Phalo green

Raw Sienna

Azo Gold

Titanium Buff

Brushes:

I often will do an acrylic painting with only 3 or 4 brushes. If you have a collection of brushes that you prefer to use then bring them! If you’re gathering your supplies for the first time below are some recommendations. Keep in mind that acrylic paint will ruin natural hair brushes pretty quickly, so unless you plan on using a natural hair brush for special effects, it’s good to use synthetic brushes. When you go to the art store, you get what you pay for. Avoid the very cheap brush packs from Michaels & no need to spend 60 dollars on a single natural hair brush.

*You’ll save a lot of money and receive top tier quality ordering your brushes online from Rosemaryandco.com*

Recommended brushes list:

Option A)

https://www.rosemaryandco.com/acrylic-brushes/acrylic-brush-sets/peter-keegan-acrylic-set

Option B)

From your local art store

Recommended brands:

  • Princeton Velvetouch

  • Da Vinci

A few synthetic pointed rounds

A few synthetic medium sized flat brush

A few synthetic filbert brush

Some larger flat synthetic brushes for glazing

FX brushes

  • tooth brushes are great for speckling chaos (like a star scape)

  • Hardware store brushes for rough rendering of large areas that need the texture

  • Old ruined brushes are great for natural textural effects

Drawing Supplies

At a glance (any ol’ drawing supplies will get the job done):

About Victoria:

My name is Victoria Miessler and I have been painting since I was 9 years old when I decided to make it my career. I took painting classes in college in 2014 & 2015 and graduated with a bachelor's in fine arts in 2017. Right before graduating I got hired as a textile artist for a fashion company and learned a lot about how to make eye catching patterns and textile designs. After a year of working there I left to teach painting classes at an after school art program called Priscilla and Tiffany's in Miami Florida. There I discovered my strong passion for teaching. Today I live in Santa Cruz and have a studio space in downtown called the Vision Sanctuary where me and my team of artists host workshops, events, and classes. I also design my own clothes and sell them to different stores in Santa Cruz, at my gallery and on my website.
